Persea americana flowers exhibit a complex, synchronous dichogamy where blooms switch from female to male phases across successive days, demanding precise foraging windows from honey bees. Successful spring harvesting requires deep, well-irrigated volcanic or sandy soils and mild coastal temperatures to sustain high-volume nectar secretion from these sensitive subtropical canopies. The resulting nectar is rich in avocado-specific polyols and boasts an extremely low glucose configuration, rendering the honey completely resistant to natural crystallization for years.
